Waterskiing and wakeboarding
If you’re looking for great facilities, safe training, sports tours and the excitement of competition, waterskiing and wakeboarding could be for you. There are opportunities for all RAF personnel and their families to take part – and that’s irrespective of ability, experience and where you’re based. The season runs from April to September and 2009 looks like one to remember. Clear your diary for an inter-regional competition, a training camp, a visit to the Wakestock wakeboard and music festival at Abersoch, Wales, a tour to Texas in the USA, RAF and Inter-Services championships and an end-of-year party.
Motor sports
Whether you want to race on two wheels or four, or if you like the idea of being a marshal or official, the RAF Motor Sports Association (RAFMSA) will welcome you. And you can get involved at a local, Inter-Service, national or international level. RAFSMA is one of the RAF’s main sports associations and it’s getting stronger every year. Join in and you could compete in 4x4, karting, rallying, circuit training, rallycross, motocross, trials and road racing.
