Visit an RAF Unit

RAF Chaplains Branch

Informal Visits

If you want to know more, there is nothing more useful than making a visit to an RAF unit and its chaplaincy. Please request a visit through our enquiry form and we will then arrange for you to visit a unit within your region.

At the RAF unit you will be given the opportunity to speak with a serving chaplain(s), tour the unit itself, talk with personnel and possibly their families, see the accommodation and ask as many questions as you wish.

A visit to a unit may make you want to explore RAF ministry further. Alternatively you may feel no calling to RAF ministry and perhaps a re-affirmation of your calling to the place you now minister. Either way you will have the advantage of experiencing ministry in a different context.

These visits will usually last for a day, but this depends upon your own commitments.

Ordinand / Trainee Ministers Placements

We have worked closely with several theological colleges over the years to provide opportunities for theological students to experience military chaplaincy. These placements usually last for one or two weeks and you will live in the Officers Mess.

Placements are limited in number and subject to our operational commitments at the time.
If you are training for ministry within an MOD eligible church and would like to arrange a work placement, please complete our enquiry form or write to:
