Aim of the Course

The aim of the course is to train photographers of all three Services and Civilians in specific aspects of media operations, prior to their employment as a stills photographer with a Combat Camera Team, Mobile News Team or other Media Posts.

Outline of the Syllabus

The course looks at the role and function of Defence Media & Communications, Defence Media Operations Centre (DMOC), all Service public relations activities and the requirements of the media including the different ‘house styles’ of the UK press. In addition the training also looks at the various EEC and UK laws relating to photography of children and vulnerable adults, copyright laws, Data Protection and other related topics.
