Aim of the Course
The aim of the course is to provide photographic training for non-photographic personnel to meet operational requirements, or undertake the function of an Army Unit Photographer.
Outline of the Syllabus
The course provides basic photographic skills and knowledge of static camera surveillance from a covert /overt fixed point, Unit public relations photography and digital workflow procedures.
The syllabus covers the following topics: basic understanding of photographic principles, the operation and maintenance of digital SLR cameras, telephoto lenses and digital imagery workflow using Adobe Photoshop software.
Additional, the training covers the theoretical and practical application of surveillance photography and the public relations photography undertaken by a Unit Photographer. The trainee will also learn basic and advanced Photoshop skills including use the use of layers adding effects such as grid overlays and text as well as transmitting images by e-mail attachment and satellite transmission equipment and software.
