International Defence Training (RAF)

IDT(RAF) provide a gateway to the extensive range of training provided by the Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and British Army for international students and civilian personal involved with Military Operations.

IDT(RAF) are not however, training providers and whilst this website contains basic details of over 500 specific courses ranging from Advanced Fast Jet Training through to Basic Chef, if further information is required please contact the training unit direct using the links found on the training map

Frequently asked questions

How to search the IDT(RAF) website

A search box is located on the top right-hand corner of every page. From here, you are able to search for information relating to particular courses or for any other information relating to training with the Royal Air Force.

Searches can be conducted by inputting any relevant keyword (for example: Typhoon, Logistics, safety, DCAE, etc) or where known, specific course numbers or titles.

Each page can be printed in word format simply by clicking on the print button located on your browser.

If you encounter any problems or require help locating a particular course, please contact the IDT1W desk.

How to book a Course

International students wishing to contact IDT(RAF) to obtain further information on courses should either complete the form found on the ‘Contact IDT’ page or visit the International Guide section of this website to identify the specific desk officer responsible for their country of origin.

These officers can be emailed direct by clicking on the relevant link.

The International Guide section also contains downloadable versions of all documentation required by International Students wishing to apply for courses through IDT(RAF).

Military personal are welcome to contact IDT(RAF) for information however, those wishing to apply for courses must do so through their Defence Attache or Unit Training Officer.

Civilian personal wishing to apply for courses should contact IDT(RAF)’s marketing partner, Horizon Training.
