The Team

The Project team is led by Flight Lieutenant Tim Barlow. He is supported by the following Project Officers: Lt Col Phil Westwood (Royal Engineers) who is in charge of the Engineering for the Project, retired Air Commodore Charles Clarke (President of Ex-POW Association and former POW at Stalag Luft III), Howard Tuck (Historian and MD of Minerva Specialist Programmes), Sqn Ldr Catherine Heath (fund raising and Deputy Project Leader) and Flt Lt Glen Bridger (Accounts/ Deputy Project Leader).

Border Oak and Powelll & Co, from Kingsland, Nr Leominster are the specialist building companies we are using. Special thanks must go to the Royal Air Forces Ex-POW Association and the Canadian 'Great Escape Memorial Project' who have both donated about £15,000 each to the project. Without out them we would not be able to go ahead with any building this summer. The Canadians have donated money that they had raised for their own project to Project 104, a very kind offer. The money raised by the Royal Air Forces Ex-POW Association has been from Ex-POWs in the form of personal donations and through some of the Associations own funds. Joint Managing Director Mr John Greene (Border Oak) and Don Powell (Powell & Co) and their teams have been extremely supportive of the Project, going to great lengths to help out with the engineering and finances – thank you!

To carry out Project 104 a team will be established using military personnel from RAF High Wycombe and 10 other RAF Stations, and working closely with the British Army's Royal Engineers . They will form a working party who will, under the guide of the Project Officers, build the replica hut.

Current Situation

"We are now building in August, 2008. Please view the photographs of the foundation build which is taking place through out July. We still need your kind donations to help us pay for the future maintenance of the hut, thank you."
