Welcome From
Wing Commander M Brown, Station Commander for RAF Brampton Wyton and Wing Commander R Cook, Station Commander RAF Henlow.

RAF Brampton Wyton Henlow is a diverse Station that spans two counties, with RAF Brampton and Wyton in Cambridgeshire and RAF Henlow 36 miles to the south in Bedfordshire. All three sites are home to a number of lodger units, all providing support direct to operations at home and overseas; hence our mission:

‘To meet the RAF’s assigned military objectives by providing the best support possible to our Lodger Units, within available resources and according to their needs.’

The nineteen lodger units we support include; The RAF Centre of Aviation Medicine at RAF Henlow to 57(R) Squadron, No 1 Elementary Flying Training School at RAF Wyton and Joint Air Reconnaissance Intelligence Centre (JARIC), which is current based at RAF Brampton but due to move to RAF Wyton in late 2012.

All three Stations have proud histories, two of which pre-date the origins of the RAF and extend back to the First World War. Over the years, roles have changed to mirror the needs of defence. To find out further information about our Station please visit ‘About Us’ page or follow these links to our voluntary organisations such as the Pathfinder Museum and RAF Signals Museum.

2012 will bring a lot of change as regrettably, we have to say farewell to RAF Brampton which will cease operations by the end of the year and will close thereafter. However, I am glad to say that this is not the end of our work at Brampton: the personnel currently serving on the site will move across Huntingdon to RAF Wyton into a purpose built new environment, and our families will still be residing in quarters there. Meantime, RAF Wyton and RAF Henlow will stand up as independent units in their own right from April 2012.
