Emergency dental treatment (severe pain or facial swelling) outside of normal working hours is available by contacting the guardroom at Wyton on ext 7100. As we operate a roster with local dental units, your treatment may be carried out away from Wyton.

Emergency dental treatment (severe pain or facial swelling) outside of normal working hours is available by contacting the guardroom at Henlow on ext 7432.

Emergency Treatment Whilst on Leave

Serving personnel requiring urgent emergency dental treatment whilst on leave in the UK whether from a unit in the UK or abroad, are to report to the nearest DDS clinic where the necessary arrangements will be made for treatment. Where this is impractical due to distance or other difficulty, personnel are to seek emergency treatment from a civilian dental practice, normally under National Health Service (NHS) arrangements. Where no NHS facilities are available, emergency treatment may be obtained from private practitioners. Refunds of fees paid may be claimed by the patient, on return to his unit and on production of a receipt authenticated by his unit DDS dental officer. Charges, other than for emergency treatment, are the responsibility of the serviceman. Similarly, the charges incurred for the urgent repair of a removable denture will be reimbursed on production of an authenticated receipt.
