Wyton Medical Centre

Location

The Regional Medical Centre at RAF Wyton is situated on Harris Way near the SPAR shop. We are a modern, well equipped practice and provide a full GP service for all service personnel. We are responsible for Aviation Medicine, Occupational and Environment Health at RAF Wyton.

Appointments

We operate a full appointment system but will always see urgent cases the same day if requested. Please ring for routine appointments after 0800hrs Mon-Fri. 01480 52451 ext 7220.

Out Of Hours Medical Cover

Emergencies

Definition: A life-threatening situation requiring immediate medical and ambulance support. The civilian ambulance should be requested by dialing 999.

Urgent Consultation

Definition: A medical condition causing discomfort or disability which does not require an ambulance but where the condition of the patient may deteriorate significantly before the next routine clinic if not seen.

Medical Assistance After Normal Working Hours

Personnel requiring a doctor up to 1800 hrs Monday to Friday should phone Wyton ext 7220 in the normal way.

Personnel requiring a Doctor between 1800 hrs and 0800 hrs next morning should phone 0330 123 9131. This will put you in direct contact with the Huntingdonshire Primary Care Trust (PCT) Out Of Hours (OOH) service who now provide our medical cover during the silent hours. To ensure continuity of treatment, please state that you are stationed at RAF Bramton/Wyton. This information will ensure that a copies of your treatment is sent directly to the SMO

When you phone this service, you will be triaged by trained personnel who will either offer you advice, ask you to attend the OOH’s Clinic, contact an ambulance or put you in direct contact with a doctor.

Should you be required to pay for medication etc, the monies will be repaid to you on production of a valid receipt.

The RMC will not deal with routine administration matters at lunch times, after 1700 hrs and at weekends.
