The 'Global Gateway' magazine (originally 'Gateway' but now renamed to reflect the merger with the RAF Lyneham 'Globe' publication) is the magazine of Royal Air Force Brize Norton; it is very much the 'voice' of the Station.
The main aim of the Global Gateway magazine is to act as a window through which you, the readership, can see and appreciate the diverse activities of the Station, including its social and sporting achievements. However, the Global Gateway magazine is also an excellent way of keeping personnel informed of matters affecting RAF Brize Norton, advertise events and promote activities on and around the station, including the local area.
There is an amazing amount of different activities ongoing at this station, much of it not reflected in the magazine and articles are always appreciated that reflect the wider station interests.
Have you been deployed to unusual or different places, undertaken adventurous training or collected money for charity? If the answer is yes, then write an article and let everyone know what's going on. In addition, articles on wildlife, walks, and events in the local community help stop the magazine from being too 'military' and reflect the wide and varied interests of the readership. A submission can be as simple as a photograph with a description, an A4 page of text with or without photos, a cartoon locally produced to a full centre page feature. The author does not have to be a literary genius and help with additional photos, design layout and writing the article itself can be sought from the editorial team.
Contributions to the Global Gateway need to be sent by the 7th of the month preceding publication. They can be sent by e-mail to gateway-editor@brizenorton.raf.mod.uk and by post to the Global Gateway editor. Names and contact details of the current editorial team can be found on the inside cover of the magazine.
