The Hive

The worldwide network of Hive Information Centres are there to offer a focal point for the local community, and to welcome new arrivals whether they be married accompanied, married unaccompanied or single. They provide news and information on what is happening in the locality and will point you in the right direction for information that is not available directly from their own resources.

A Hive Information Officer manages each Hive. The Information Officers are trained for the task of running their Hive in accordance with agreed tri-Service Hive policies, these policies include confidentiality undertakings. They are given an understanding of national and local welfare issues and the procedures involved in order to access the appropriate welfare agencies whenever such needs arise. They also maintain close liaison with local schools, Tourist Information Centres, local authorities, Citizens Advice Bureau, single Service and Tri-Service welfare and similar organisations.

Accessibility is a key aspect of the Hive organisation. Appointments are not required. Hive Information Centres are opening 20, 30 or 40 hours per week, with the actual opening hours set by the location and community needs

Hive Information Centres are there to respond to the needs of the Service community. Let them know your needs.
