Tedder Primary School
Most children of primary age living in quarters at RAF Digby attend the Tedder Primary School, which is a co-educational community primary school for children from 4 to 11 years.
This is a small, friendly school with approximately 100 children, some of whom come from neighbouring villages.
The school was refurbished in 2000 and a new hall built, providing a super resource, which can be used for many activities, such as collective worship, assemblies for parents and school drama productions.
There are currently four classes;
- Reception / Year One mix
- Year One / Year Two mix
- Year Three / Year Four mix
- Year Five / Year Six mix.
Numbers in classes are on average about 25, although the Reception/Year One mix is usually smaller.
We have a recently refreshed IT Suite comprising of 15 computers and a digital projector and there are additional computers in classrooms, some being laptops. Each classroom has an electronic whiteboard to support the teaching and learning and to access the internet, which is closely monitored to ensure safety online. Outside there is a playground, adventure playground, infant play area, gardens, a wildlife area, pond and playing fields.
Parents are most welcome in school and there are many opportunities to help in the classrooms and support the work of the school.
The Headteacher invites prospective parents to visit the school and meet the staff. If this in not possible, please access the website to find out more about the school; there are photos of the school and examples of work that the children have done in each class.
