Thisyear’s competition proved to be an outstanding success despiteOperational commitments taking their toll on the number of teams competing andrider availability. I would like to take this opportunity to thankeveryone who competed in ISL 2010 and Tracy Willcox and all the staff atCranwell Saddle Club for hosting the two finals. Both finals were, as always,keenly fought and congratulations go to the winners. The standard of riding wasexcellent, 16 points separated the three teams in the area-winners final andfor the first time that I can remember we had to resort to riding testcollective scores in order to determine the individual winner in the runners-upfinal. Riding is very much alive and well in the RAF

Can I take this opportunity to thank everyone whocompeted in ISL 2009 for helping to make it a success - we seem to be goingfrom strength to strength and it shows that riding is still very much alive andwell in the RAF. The two finals were, as always, keenly fought andcongratulations go to the winners. The standard of riding was excellentand I would like to thank Tracy Willcox and all the staff at Cranwell SaddleClub for hosting the finals and making them such an enjoyable experience.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The Inter Station League has been going for many years now with its sole aim being to encourage all members of the RAF to give Horse Riding a go! Anyone with a nerve to sit on a horse and tackle a riding test followed by a course of small fences can have a go. The best way to get involved is to contact your Saddle Club Officer in Charge. They should be able to give you all the information you need to get going. It is a good chance to represent your Station in something a bit different and it can be great fun... as long as you dont mind wearing a pair of Joddies!
