About us

RAF Benson Flying Club exists to provide flying training and low cost light aircraft flying, primarily to members of the Armed Forces. This includes members of the RAuxAF and the Reserves, Volunteer Reserves, Cadet Forces and all former members of all 3 services. Members of the Armed Forces of other nations serving with British Forces in the UK are also eligible for membership.

  • Instruction @ £15 per hour by private arrangement with instructor.

RAF Benson Flying Club is ELCAS registered for the Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC)

Aircraft & Prices

Membership fee: £36 for Full members (Service personnel)
£48 for Associate members (civilians)
Aircraft available 2 x C-152 @ £67 per airborne hour(solo) £82 (dual) plus £11 per sortie taxy fee.
Robin DR400 @ £75 per hour.
2 x PA28-180 @ £90 per airborne hour - no taxi fee.
Various other aircraft by arrangement with owners.
Shared ownership avaiable.

Available Fuel

Club bowser supplyong fuel at cost price (by prior arrangement for non-BFC aircraft).

Club Facilities

Clubhouse with internet access, classroom and planning area, 'honesty fridge' T2 hanger and hardstanding/grass parking area.
PPL/IMC Training and CAA examiner.
Open daylight hours, subject to ATC restrictions during ATC operating hours

Aircraft Joining Instructions

As 1AIDU Flips or Pooleys or as directed by ATC.

RAFFCA Reciprocity

All facilities are available at the standard rates to RAFFCA Club Members without further membership fees but subject to a 'Club Check/Conversion'.
