The GSA

The Royal Air Force Gliding & Soaring Association (RAFGSA) is a voluntary organisation providing structure and central direction to the gliding clubs which form the main membership, plus full time back-up, training and facilities in the form of the RAFGSA Chilterns Centre at RAF Halton. It is a registered company and charity and has close ties with the BGA.

The RAFGSA president is Air Commodore Sean Reynolds CBE DFC FCMI MIoD RAF and the association boasts an impressive list or founder members, vice presidents and life members, many of whom hold air rank. However its aims remain firmly in the promotion of gliding for all and enabling even the youngest recruit to take up this exciting and challenging sport by providing bridges across the normal financial hurdles. Priority is given to those normally employed on the ground.

The current RAFGSA chairman is Group Captain Ted Richards RAF who heads the GSA executive committee, which consists of:

Dave Fidler - Deputy Chairman

Dave Chappel - Secretary

Carl Peters - Treasurer

Chris Heames - Ops Member

Jon Arnold - Fleet manager

Dave Posslethwaite - Support Member
