The Role of Catering Training Squadron (CTS) is to provide high quality, cost effective and efficient professional training for officers of the Logistics (Catering) Specialisation, and all personnel of the catering trade group, Trade Group 19, and their MOD civilian equivalents. This includes basic, further and management training. Chefs, Stewards, and Catering Accountants together with the Logistics (Catering) Specialisation Officers make up the catering branch. CTS not only provides the training, but also the catering course design function which, as the name implies, designs all the catering courses. Additionally, food safety training is provided to Air Loadmasters and Nursing staff and on-site civilian steward training is provided by utilising the CTS based Mobile Catering Training Team. Finally, CTS actively supports the RAF Element of the Armed Forces Culinary Team by managing the RAF Team and, in conjunction with our sister Services, the organisation of the event. This also involves providing craft skill workshops and supporting the team in all entries to national and international Salon Culinaires.
