Flying Wing comprises of the following sections: HQ, Nos 72 and 207 Sqn, CFS(Tucano) Sqn, 76 Sqn, Groundschool.
Flying Wg HQ at RAF Linton-on-Ouse is responsible for flying training strategy, long-term plans, flying publications, personnel management, and ultimately the delivery of trained pilots and WSOs into further training. It also forms part of a triumvirate with No 22 (Trg) Gp Flying Training and PMA 31-33 in delivering the output of trained aircrew, on time and to the highest standards. Personal and force development of both staff and students is supported by OC Force Development Squadron, who also acts as a mentor to the student pilots and WSOs. The Station Flight Safety officer is also directly responsible to the Chief Instructor for the safe execution of all flying-related activities.
Flying Wing HQ comprises of the Chief and Deputy Chief Instructor, Flying Wing Plans, the Simulator Liaison Officer, Unit Test Pilots and the Flying Wing Secretariat. It is also the home of the federated CFS(Tucano) Examiner.
