Royal Air Force Lyneham

Visiting Us

Visitors arriving at RAF Lyneham should enter via the Main Gate (on the A3102 Calne road) and report to the Control of Entry building to book in and obtain security passes.

Parking

Drivers of small vehicles (cars, vans, mini-buses, etc), approaching the Control of Entry point, should park in the spaces marked out around the periphery of the parking area. Drivers of larger vehicles (buses, lorries, etc) should park in the centre of the parking area, in the lanes provided.

Booking-in Procedure

All visitors are required to produce two forms of UK recognized identification when booking-in, with at least one form of photo-ID (ideally a passport, new style driving licence, etc).

Details of the host or the place being visited, along with any documents related to the visit, should be provided to assist the Control of Entry staff in verifying that visitors are allowed access to RAF Lyneham. Casual visitors need to be escorted onto the Station, and throughout the visit, by an authorized sponsor (service person or MOD civil servant), who will arrange to meet their visitor(s) at Control of Entry.

Group Visits

Any group attending RAF Lyneham for an organised visit, specific event or activity should be booked-in, in advance, by the authorized RAF Lyneham sponsor, who arranged the visit/event/activity. Full details of the visit, including a list of all visitors, and any vehicle details, are to be forwarded to Control of Entry at least 5 working days before the visit.

Searches

Visitors should note that they, or their vehicle, are likely to be searched prior to entering the unit, and at any time during their visit. In the event that anyone refuses permission for these searches, then access to the unit will be denied or rescinded as appropriate.
