Rural Wiltshire

Wiltshire is a fantastic county for getting out and doing things whatever your interest! There are some 4000 miles of pathways including the famous Ridgeway Walk as well as the Kennet and Avon Canal. The Wansdyke Path from Marlborough to Morgan’s Hill and the Tan Hill Way offer some beautiful and remote walks.

The Wiltshire Cycleway comprises 6 routes of varying length, the longest being 160 miles. All routes are signposted to avoid busy roads and route maps are available from the Wiltshire Tourist Information Service.

Just north of Lyneham, The Cotswold Water Park offers facilities for sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, power boating and angling. The local area also boasts 11 golf courses, riding stables and hand gliding.

Other notable places to visit are Avebury and Stonehenge, the city of Bath, Longleat House and Safari Park and the Great Western Railway Museum in Swindon.
