Opening of the Marham pre-School Sandpit

In between showers! The Children of the Marham Pre-School, along with their adult supervisors and parents, congregated in and around the new sand-pit. The purpose of the gathering was to witness the formal opening of the latest addition to the already well catered for garden at the Village Hall. The opening of the new facility was a joint effort between the Chairman of the Parish Council, Cllr Allan Bradley, and RAF Marham’s Community Relations officer, Squadron Leader ‘Rem’ Merrick. Both the Parish Council and the Air Base have supported the Pre-School. After the ceremony the head Supervisor, Mrs Liz Blakie said “Open air education is a great way to introduce the children to outdoor play. The Sand-Pit will enhance their involvement with nature and help their learning skills, by being able to feel and mould the texture of the sand”.
