Charity Combat Stress receives £5,000 from RAF Marham
January 2007
On a crisp fresh morning at RAF Marham, in Norfolk, the Station Commander, Group Captain Phil Osborn, handed over a cheque for £5,000 to the Director of Funding and Public Relations, Mr Robert Marsh, of Combat Stress, which is the ex-Services Mental Welfare Society. For over 80 years, the Society has been the only Services Charity specialising in helping those of all ranks from the Armed Forces and the Merchant Navy suffering from psychological disability as a result of their time in Service for their Country.
On receiving the cheque, Mr Marsh said "This very generous donation will greatly help with the up-surge of new cases which we are supporting as a result of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is wonderful to witness serving personnel helping their ex-colleagues."
RAF Marham personnel collected the money over the year by holding a Families Day, Track Days and volunteer contributions.
