RAF Marham Community Project - Childrens Play Areas
RAF Marham Community Support Squadron are delighted to present to you three exciting new projects that will benefit the youngsters of this community.
Project One is situated behind the Sandringham Centre. The existing outside area will be developed and will include activities for all users of this area, such as an outdoor classroom, a climbing frame, a patio area and an external cooking area. The aim of the project is to enhance this outside area and further develop it for use by the Community and its groups.
Project 1
Project two will be the development of the current play park in Sandringham Road. The activities in this project include an assault course, a chaos climber, tower and tunnel, stepping pods and a high frame net and a zip wire.
Project 2
The third area is the multi use games area (MUGA), which will be located in front of the Sandringham Centre. As the name suggests this arena will be an enclosed area for the use of game playing whether it be football, netball, basketball to name but a few. There will be plenty of seating within this area to either watch the games or just to get together and relax. The MUGA is a new concept, which has proved successful in many areas of the country in encouraging teenagers to participate in sport and being an area to meet up and socialise together.
Project 3
It is a very exciting time here at RAF Marham as we endeavour to look after the community. For those of you who were unable to attend the Families Consultative Group meeting in July where this project was presented, we will be providing information personally to you in the forms of further presentations and on notice boards around the station, both in and outside the wire.
The commencement of the project starts on Monday 22nd October at 12noon with the Ceremonial Cutting of the First Sod of turf by the Deputy Mayor of Kings Lynn, at the Sandringham Centre. Plans will be available for viewing in the Sandringham Centre Foyer.
