Public Relations and Marketing
Royal Air Force Music Services primary task will always be to provide musical (and various operational) support to the Royal Air Force around the United Kingdom and overseas, with increasing demands upon our bands and ensembles to participate in an ever-wider role at public concerts and events throughout the world, the RAF Music Services has now established a Public Relations and Marketing Office to further support such initiatives.
The Public Relations and Marketing Office is based at Royal Air Force Uxbridge and is administered on behalf of the Principal Director of Music and Headquarters Music Services by the full time Public Relations and Marketing Manager.
In addition to the Public Relations and Marketing Office each band has its own Publicity Department. Sponsors of allocated or booked engagements should contact the publicity manager for the relevant band for information and materials
To submit any feedback or comments to the Public Relations and Marketing Team directly please send an email to marketing@rafmusic.co.uk or if you would like to discuss how Royal Air Force Music could support your own event in person, please contact Chief Technician Rob Jordan directly on:

Booking an RAF Band for your event.
Initial enquiries can be made through the Public Relations and Marketing Office, however all Royal Air Force Bands must be booked through the Engagements Co-ordinator at HQMS who will present any reasonable requests to The Ministry of Defence Royal Air Force Bands Allocation Committee who authorise the allocation and execution of the engagement based on availability and the priorities set out below.
The Ministry of Defence Royal Air Force Bands Allocation Committee can consider requests up to 12 months in advance of your engagement, therefore an early submission is recommended. However, if your proposed engagement is less than 3 months away, please contact the Engagements Co-ordinator Chief Technician Steve McGuinness (Tel. 01895 815291) or use our enquiry and booking form.
All requests will be prioritised in accordance with the following categories:
Category 1:
Official military events (sponsored by MOD).
Category 2:
Service commemorations or fundraising events for bona fide Service charities. Please note that although no fees are charged for Category 2 engagements, charges will apply for transport and other expenses (meals, subsistence, accommodation etc where applicable).
Category 3:
Service unit functions such as a sports meeting or function in a mess or an event held for the entertainment of Service personnel and their guests. A fee will be charged for this category.
Category 4:
Events that are outside the scope of Category 1, 2 or 3 above. Please note that for all Category 4 events a full commercial fee will be charged (including musicians fees, transport, subsistence and accommodation - where applicable).
Category 5:
Community Relations at Home and events of National Significance. All marginal costs (transport, subsistence, accommodation if required) must still be covered by the sponsor.
