Booking a RAF Band for your event.

Initial enquiries can be made through the Public Relations and Marketing Office, however all Royal Air Force Bands must be booked through the Engagements Co-ordinator at HQMS who will present any reasonable requests to The Ministry of Defence Royal Air Force Bands Allocation Committee who authorise the allocation and execution of the engagement based on availability and the priorities set out below. The Ministry of Defence Royal Air Force Bands Allocation Committee can consider requests up to 12 months in advance of your engagement, therefore an early submission is recommended. However, if your proposed engagement is less than 3 months away, please contact the Engagements Co-ordinator Chief Technician Steve McGuinness (Tel. 020 8833 8527) or use our online enquiry and booking form. All requests will be prioritised in accordance with the following categories:

Category 1

Official military events (sponsored by MoD).

Category 2

Service Commemorations or fundraising events for recognised Service Charities. Please note that although no fees are charged for Category 2 engagements, charges will apply for all marginal costs (transport, subsistence, accommodation where applicable, insurance etc).

Category 3
Service Unit, HM Government, other Government Departments, Foreign and Commonwealth Office Engagements. Events held for the entertainment of Service personnel and their guests of a unit or sub unit of the same service. All marginal costs (transport, subsistence, accommodation if required) must be covered by the sponsor, and a band fund contribution.

Category 4

Commercial/Private Events. Please note that for all Category 4 events a full commercial fee will be charged (including musicians' fees, transport, insurance, subsistence and accommodation if required).

Category 5

Community Relations. All marginal costs (transport, subsistence, accommodation if required) must still be covered by the sponsor.
