Welcome to RAF Sailing Association
Welcome to the Royal Air Force Sailing Association (RAFSA) website. The fact that you are here hopefully indicates that you wish to sample for yourself one of the many opportunities that makes membership of the RAF far more rewarding than a civilian career.
The senior leadership of the RAF jealously guards access for our people to sport and Adventurous Training (AT) as a way of promoting self-confidence, leadership skills, and team spirit. In addition, many of you who undertake AT will develop skills that will stay with you through-life.
As the Admiral of RAFSA, I am keen to maximise the number of you and where appropriate your families, who can experience the opportunities that RAFSA provides. I encourage you all and in particular, our junior ranks to try your hand at ‘something on the water’; windsurfing, dinghy and offshore sailing and safety boating are all available to the novice as well as the expert.
In order to make your RAF career as fulfilling as possible, my advice to you all is to seize every opportunity that is being offered.
I look forward to seeing you on the water!
Mark Green
Air Vice-Marshal
