To summon RAF Search and Rescue Force assistance in an emergency, dial 999 (or 112 anywhere in the European Union). When asked which service your require, ask for either Police or Coastguard. If a SAR helicopter is required, the Police or Coastguard will request this from the UK Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre which is manned 24 hours every day.
