How to Organize an Overseas Visit

When organizing an Overseas Visit is is particularly important to recognize that:

  • The Visit is to be funded completely by non-public funds.
  • You will not not be entitled to the use of MT or CILOR.
  • Authorisation to tour must be granted by stn PEdO, RAF Association, Embassy of visiting country and most importantly the RAF Sports Board; HAL-RAFSB-DSB1A@mod.uk(in that order).
  • Project Officer's should understand the parameters of Duty Status when on an Overseas Visit iaw JSP 765
  • Numbers on the visit are restricted iaw D/CSSB 1104 dated 24 Mar 09
  • RAF sport Association Project Officer's should check with Cath Kelly (Association Accts Mgr) rafsportsboard@btconnect.com that overseas visit funding is in their 5yr-Plan.
  • Project Officers can apply to the RAF Sports Lottery; HAL-RAFSB-Lottman@mod.uk to help offset travel costs of the visit. Applications should be made iaw AP 3223, Leaflet 120. Only personnel that are members of the RAF Sports Lottery can receive lottery funding. Applications should be made a minimum of 1 month before departure.
  • To receive a maximum grant from the Lottery, personnel will need to have 3 or more tickets.
  • A Post Overeseas Visit Report will be required at the end of the visit; and must include a reconciliation of funds.
