Please be aware that the cut of for all grants in 2011 is Fri 9 Dec 11. Any grant applications received after this date will be dealt with in 2012. This is to allow the Lottery time to process said grants and complete the end of year accounts and reporting.

Application for Sports Lottery Grant - Courses

Individuals may apply for assistance from the RAF Sports Lottery to help fund sporting courses. Funding will be based on 50% of the costs after deduction of SLCs, ELCs and Association/Station funding. For example; if your course costs £360 and you are in receipt of your SLCs at £175 the remaining cost would be £185, so Lottery funding would be £93.

Applications must be endorsed by the appropriate Association or, if a local course, your PEdO. Funding from the Lottery does NOT provide Duty Status

Individual Course Application

Unit Event

Activities which are not AT or Sports Tours, where the purpose of the event is to promote personal development, team building and communication skills. Funding from the Lottery will be towards travel and entry fees. A personal contribution will be expected by all participants and all participants must be in the RAF Sports Lottery to receive the available funding. Applications must be endorsed by the appropriate Sqn Commander or Stn Cdr. Receipt of funding from the RAF Sports Lottery DOES NOT provide Duty Status and ALL personnel must be on leave with adequate insurance unless authority has been provided by the RAF Sports Board or Station Commander if it is a UK based event.

Individual Event

Individuals participating in sporting challenges; such as marathons, triathlons or adventure racing, may apply to the RAF Sports Lottery for assistance towards their travel and entry costs associated with their event. Applicants must be in the Lottery holding at least 3 tickets to receive funding. Applications must be endorsed by Line Managers of Sqn Ldr or above, alternatively by the appropriate RAF Association Chairman or Team Manager if applicable. Receipt of funding from the RAF Sports Lottery DOES NOT provide Duty Status and personnel must be on leave with adequate insurance unless authority has been provided by the RAF Sports Board or Station Commander if it is a UK based event.
