Routes to Venue
The RAF TC is at the NW outskirts of RAF Halton on the approach to Halton Village. The nearest BR station is at Wendover, from where there is a bus service to RAF Halton.
Accommodation and Messing
Accommodation and messing will be arranged by the Asst Hon Sec, Flt Lt E A Price. It is therefore essential that requirements for accommodation are included on the Championships entry form. Requests for accommodation after the entry closing date will not be entertained. Please note that accommodation for all ranks is very limited at RAF Halton. Competitors seeking accommodation in the Home for Sport block should also note that, although a bed may be available, bedding may not; so please bring a sleeping bag.
Facilities
All competitors will be afforded Honorary Membership of the RAF TC for the period of the Championships. Changing, catering and bar facilities are available in the Clubhouse. Play will be on outdoor synthetic grass or hard courts as directed by the Tournament Committee. The Air Dome housing 3 indoor courts will be used in inclement weather. The telephone number of RAF Halton is (Wendover (01296) 623453 or VPN 95237 Ext 6158).
Cups and Trophies
Regrettably the constraints placed upon the Association by the Insurance Company prohibit trophies being held by individuals. Therefore, after the presentation, winners are to return all cups and trophies to the Hon Sec who will arrange for their safekeeping.
Retired RAF Veterans Insurance Requirement
All retired RAF veterans are advised to ensure that they hold adequate personal injury insurance to cover the period of playing in the RAF Championships.
NOTE
If you do not have a doubles partner in the open or veteran events, state `partner required'.
