09 Novice Tournament
RAF NOVICE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS - 24/25 MAR 09
The RAF Lawn Tennis Association will kick of the 2009 season with a Novice Tennis Championship. The event will be open to all standards but the emphasis is to encourage new players to the game and aid those who wish to improve their own tennis prowess, irrespective of standard.
The Championships will be held at the RAF Tennis Centre at RAF Halton from 24 Mar – 25 Mar 09.
This competition will provide 2 periods of FREE professional coaching consisting of 90 minute sessions, a handicap tournament, short tennis and spot prizes through sponsorship from Head Tennis. The Championships will be supported by a number of RAF team players who will provide additional coaching, advice and guidance. The competition will be on a round robin basis with the focus on producing new skills, including court craft and introducing some fun into playing tennis. The event is open to ladies and men and will include singles, doubles and mixed events. Each competitor must complete a separate entry form and forward it by email to :

Closing date for entry forms is 18 Mar 09.
Personnel will be accommodated at RAF Halton in the ‘Home for Sport’ block and all meals will be taken in the JR Maitland Mess regardless of rank, but please note this is a PAYD facility. Personnel must not book their own accommodation.
Finally, all players are to assemble at the RAF Tennis Centre Halton ready to play from 0915 hrs on Tue 24 Mar 09.
