The Childcare Centre, locally known as ‘The Lilypad’ is a brand new purpose built building that is equipped to provide full-day childcare for up to 72 children, ranging from 6 weeks old to 5 years old.

The Lilypad first opened its doors for business back in May 2004 and replaced the part-time childcare provided by the Busy Bees Playgroup and the Jack and Jill Crèche. Sqn Ldr Steve Dharamraj, the officer responsible for The Lilypad, explained that; “Although fully funded by the very kind donation from RAF Benevolent Fund, The Lilypad also owes much of existence to the superb efforts of the staff, who have turned the building and resources into a vibrant a caring community. Special mention must be made of Mrs Angela Long and Mrs Maureen Chandler whose hard work and imagination have made The Lilypad into a first-rate facility.”

The Lilypad is a CSIW registered establishment that provides childcare for the children of RAF Valley personnel and the wider community at very competitive rates.
