Senior Aircraftman Glynn West

Glynn is an Avionic Technician and flies with Red 8, Flight Lieutenant Dave Davies. This is his first year on Circus.

Age – 28

Education – Bourne Grammar School, Lincolnshire and currently studying for a HNC/D in Aerospace Engineering with Yeovil College.

Career – Glynn joined the RAF in 2000 and after completing trade training at RAF Cosford was posted to IX(B) Squadron at RAF Marham in Norfolk working on Tornado Gr4 aircraft. Whilst on the squadron he completed two tours of Al Udeid on Op Telic and had many detachments including Arizona, Las Vegas, Canada, Belgium, Cyprus and Germany. Glynn also had a stint as a trained Breathing Apparatus Fireman in the Op Fresco Fire strikes of 2002. In 2007 he was posted to 8 Squadron at RAF Waddington where he worked on Sentry AEW E3-D and enjoyed detachments to Scotland, Sicily, Hawaii and Operational detachments to Oman and the Caribbean. Glynn joined the Red Arrows in 2010.

Background – Glynn lives in Lincoln with his girlfriend Louise and their dog ‘Ozzy’. He is a huge fan of Peterborough United and in his spare time enjoys running, football, golf and hill walking with Ozzy to help keep fit.
