The UAS is like no other University society. If you fancy doing something truly different, we give keen individuals an opportunity to experience real RAF flying training, to see what RAF life is like and to have an excellent time whilst you're at it! Not only is this all free, but you'll actually even get paid for the time you spend training!

2011 Recruitment

Our 2011 recruitment is now over. If you are interested in joining please apply next year during the start of the academic year. Exact dates will appear on this site nearer the time. Please note we only recruit from Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth and Southampton Solent universities.

To join a UAS, you must satisfy some age, educational and nationality requirements. Broadly speaking this means you must be:

• Older than 17½ years on joining, and younger than 23½ upon graduation.
• A full time undergraduate with 2 A levels or equivalent.
• Studying for a first degree with at least 5 terms remaining before graduation.
• A citizen of the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth or of the Republic of Ireland.
