About Bader
Bader is a collection of IT systems run by the RAF Air Cadets, all officially approved by the Ministry of Defence (MOD). It is a secure and convenient way to share information, updates and to access online learning.
Some of the systems as part of Bader include Microsoft 365, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint and email. These systems are all secure and comply with data regulations. The RAF's 90 Signals Unit undertakes all of the security testing of RAF IT systems.
Bader can be accessed by all members of the organisation and there are different tools and systems available depending on your role and needs.
All of the information, resources and guidance you need for the different systems is available once you login to your Bader account.

Bader for Cadets
Bader provides Cadets with up-to-date information to help them get the most out of their experience. You can use it to:
- Access information on the events your Squadron/Detached Flight are running, sign up for events, download event attachments like Joining Instructions and equipment lists directly from Cadet Portal which volunteer and permanent staff make available to cadets.
- Update your personal details like your name, email address, telephone numbers, home address and upload your own profile photo.
- Track all your badges, qualifications, awards, achievements and promotions.
- Find out how you can achieve the next Progressive Training Syllabus badge.
- Submit absence statements direct to your unit so you can let them know when you cannot attend.
- View a digital representation of your brassard so you can see where to put the badges you have achieved.
- Access drill and uniform information including the dress regulations and the drill manual.
- Access welfare and support information which explains what you can do if you have a problem in the Air Cadets. You can also access personal security information about how to keep yourself safe.
Bader for Volunteers
Bader provides volunteers with essential tools and functionalities that help with the efficient management and coordination of squadron activities. You can use it to:
- Keep profiles and records up to date
- Upload and manage documents such as Cadet badges and certificates
- Communicate effectively using notifications, messaging and announcements to keep the squadron informed
- Plan and manage events including tracking attendance
- Schedule training sessions, exams, and activities for Cadets
- Ensure that Cadets are enrolled in the right courses and track their progress over time
- Keep track of medical forms, dietary requirements, and risk assessments for Cadets and events to comply with RAFAC safety regulations
- Manage squadron finances, inventories, and equipment records
Bader provides a centralised, secure platform for managing the various aspects of squadron life.
Bader for Parents and Guardians
Bader is primarily designed for RAF Air Cadets, staff and volunteers, but it also provides some functionalities that can benefit parents and guardians of air cadets. Bader is useful for parents in the following ways:
- As a communication hub to receive information about upcoming events, training, and camps and for important updates or emergency information to be shared with parents and guardians
- Keeping you informed about your child's attendance and participation in events and training sessions
- Sharing information on an Air Cadet’s achievements, such as promotions, awards, or course completions
- Help with streamlining the process of obtaining consent for activities, ensuring that parents and guardians are kept in the loop about which events their child is participating in and any specific requirements (e.g., medical or travel information)
- Receiving information regarding logistics for trips or camps, such as timing, transportation, and any necessary preparations
- Receiving updates on the safety measures and risk assessments undertaken by the squadron for different activities
- Communicate about opportunities to support the squadron, such as through fundraising events or volunteering for squadron-related activities
