RAF Return To Fitness Programme Week 12
On the final week of the programme it is important to give each session maximal effort and attention to make some final gains, as well as assessing your progress when re-attempting the 2km best effort run.
If you have not attended a gym since their re-opening, Corporal Luke Mees provides some useful hints and tips that will help you re-integrate back into that setting. Following the completion of this programme, accessing a gym is highly recommended to access loads such as kettle bells, dumbbells & barbells. Integrating this equipment can bring a whole host of health, fitness and role-related occupational benefits above and beyond what we have achieved in this programme.
Once this week is complete and you have taken a few days to recover, we recommend that you book in a RAF Fitness Test at your local Physical Education Flight. Whether you pass or fail, this programme will have got you into a position where you can safely and confidently attempt the test.
"The ongoing pandemic has presented many challenges and to coincide with the gradual easing of restrictions our RAF Physical Training Instructors have created a Return to Fitness Package to assist Regular and Reserve personnel to maintain their health, fitness and wellbeing. Based on a progressive programme of activities and including important nutritional advice, personnel will have access to information leaflets, videos and audio files for use at home, at the gym or outdoors."
