Today (26th April) the RAF Falcons officially began their 2022 season with a spectacular display at RAF Brize Norton, their home base, in front of local schools, sponsors and senior military.
Jumping from a RAF Odiham based Chinook Helicopter, the Falcons thrilled the crowds with their new display against clear blue skies.
First year Falcon Sergeant Owen Collins said:
“Even though I have heard from 2nd and 3rd year Falcons what it is like to display in front of a crowd, nothing can prepare you for the real-life experience; It is so much better than I could ever imagine. To jump on home turf is always exciting and today for the start of our 2022 season was even more poignant as my family were here to see the display for the very first time.”

Having completed a busy period of winter training overseas and in the UK, the team will complete displays in what will be one of their busiest seasons to date.
Flight Lieutenant Stuart Philpott, Officer Commanding, the RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team, said:
“Launch Day is an integral part of our season. This is an opportunity to say thank you to our sponsors and engage with the local community. Today could not have gone any better, a combination of good weather and the use of the chinook; conducting a great display meant that everyone that came today got to see the very best of the RAF Falcons. I am now looking forward to a very epic and enjoyable season.”
