On Friday 1st July, the RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team performed at one of the biggest events in the UK summer calendar, the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
The weekend saw hundreds of thousands of Formula 1 fans attending the famous racetrack in Northamptonshire, with the RAF Falcons kicking off the weekend. Jumping in on the first practice day of the event and spending the weekend meeting fans, the team were honoured to display at the UK’s biggest motor racing event.
Flight Sergeant James Bruce, Team Coach said:
“The weekend at Silverstone for the Grand Prix was a huge highlight for me. Walking with the Union Flag down the Hamilton Straight and then being stood with the flag bearers and the rest of the team behind Sam Ryder as he performed the National Anthem was an incredible feeling”

The weekend was a great opportunity for fans of the Falcons to get up close and personal and meet the team, as they spent the rest of the weekend giving members of the public an insight into life in the Royal Air Force and as an RAF Falcon while also getting stuck in with several of the activities on offer throughout the event.
