RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team Awarded Best Display Accolade

The Royal Air Force Falcons Parachute Display Team have been impressing crowds overseas as part of their 2022 display season, being awarded the ‘Best Civil and Sport Aviation Award’ at the Slovak International Air Festival.

The award marked the end of a fantastic week of international displays for the team, having first performed their famous routine for crowds across Belgium, before moving onto the air show in Slovakia.

The prestigious award was presented to the RAF Falcons by Hubert Stoksa, Director of Slovak International Air Festival for the Slovak Aviation Agency.

Flight Lieutenant Stuart Philpot, Officer Commanding RAF Falcons said:

“The Slovak Air Festival was a great opportunity for us to share best practice with partner nations and continue to develop important relationships. It was an incredible way to finish our European Tour after completing 6 displays across Belgium before Slovakia. We were especially pleased to use the C-130J as our jump platform, also based at RAF Brize Norton. The Falcons have already been invited back in 2023 and we look forward to displaying in front of the crowd again and competing for the award for a second year in a row.”

Flight Sergeant James Bruce, Team Coach said:

“It was a huge honour to win the Best Aviation Display Award at SIAF. It takes an incredible amount of teamwork from the engineers, aircrew, photographers, and parachutists to enable us to display overseas and we hope to perform again for the airshow next season.”
