On 11th February each year, Royal Air Force Music Services - past, present and families - come together to remember the men of the Band of The Royal Air Force Germany who died in 1985, in a road accident, whilst on duty as they traveled to an engagement in Bavaria.
Services of Remembrance will be held simultaneously at the Memorial Gardens in RAF Cranwell and at Headquarters Music Services, RAF Northolt. There will be a Facebook live broadcast starting at 9:45am on 11 February 2019 so that all those unable to travel in person can still be joined with RAF Music Services to commemorate their friends and colleagues lost in this tragic accident. The coach driver and RAF Policeman, who was traveling with the band, also lost their lives on that day.
We now have an area in the Partners section of the RAF Music website dedicated to their memory, which can be viewed here.
To arrange a visit to either of the memorial sites please contact Flight Sergeant Barry Stringer.
