InsideAIR Ep 53: The RAF in Qatar

England and Wales involvement on the pitch may have now come to an end, after both teams were devastatingly knocked out of the competition.

However, the RAF are still contributing a significant part in the security around the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

RAF Coningsby based 12 Squadron stood up as a joint UK-Qatari Typhoon Squadron in 2018. They are now deployed to support air security operations at the World Cup, alongside Qatari colleagues. Squadron Leader Barker met the team, to learn more about their work, what it takes to keep the Typhoons flying in the heat and what they get up to when not working.
