Joint Force Protection Exercises in Estonia

The Royal Air Force Regiment and the German Air Force Regiment have conducted a Joint Force Protection Exercise in Estonia, while deployed on Operation Azotize.

15 Sqn Royal Air Force Regiment and the German Air Force Regiment, who are deployed to support NATO’s Combined Baltic Air Policing Mission in Estonia, have been conducting various joint force protection exercises.

The month-long series of exercises included Fighting in Woodland Areas (FIWA) and Close Quarter Battle (CQB) tactics, with a focus on airfield and air asset defence.

The experience gained from these exercises will improve interoperability between the two nation’s forces and will bolster NATO’s ability to effectively deploy combined force protection elements in the future.
