Today we bid farewell to Warrant Officer Lee Close as he hands over the role of Provost Marshal Warrant Officer (PMWO) to Warrant Officer Jimmy Brown.
On leaving the role Lee shares a very personal message to the RAF Police.
I feel incredibly privileged to have been at the centre of our organisation over a period of change that has seen us grasp opportunities, that will place us at the core of the future Security and Resilience profession. I have met some incredible people, seen some outstanding work and have always been impressed with your dedication, professionalism and commitment to task. The RAF Police is a very proud organisation that strives to achieve whatever the task and I am proud to have represented you for the past 3 years. You have all inspired me.
He added;
As we look to the future and the changes it will bring, you must be reassured that we are ready for anything and we will continue to deliver whatever the task. Your spirit, culture and tireless delivery assures me of that.
WO Close will move into the Branch and Trade advisor role, where he will build on his experiences as PMWO. He said:
I do so walking as tall and proud as anyone in the Royal Air Force, that is down to all of you.
The PMWO is involved in all areas of RAF Police business specifically concentrating on welfare, communications and discipline. Looking forward to taking on the role WO Jimmy Brown said:
I am deeply honoured and proud to be the PMWO as it is the role that all RAF Police strive to attain. I will assist the Provost Marshal (RAF) and endeavour to ensure that the RAF Police is well represented everywhere and that our people are always at the forefront of everyone’s mind. They are after all, our greatest asset.
We would all like to pass my sincerest thanks WO Close for the great job that he has done especially against the difficult backdrop of an unprecedented lockdown.
