RAF Reserves Working Alongside The United States Air Force Security Forces

RAF Regiment Reserves have been working with United States Air Force Security Forces to support training.

Throughout July 2620 RAuxAF supported the Security Forces Close Quarter Battle training, held at RAF Honington, and Navigation Exercise at Stanford Training area by assisting with the planning, organisation and transition of the different serials, working alongside the 179th Security Forces Sqn and Air National Guard, who are made up of a mixture of Full Time Reservists and Part Time Volunteer Reserve forces, to conduct their annual deployed training.

“It was encouraging to explore relationships with USAF Security Forces based at RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall with real opportunities to explore joint training in the future.”

Flt Lt Dickinson, 2620 RAuxAF Sqn Training Officer

Partnership training like this allows us to build on our long-standing relationship with our USAF colleagues, whilst developing future training opportunities.

"For us in the Ohio National Guard, it was a rare opportunity to work with the Royal Air Force. The active-duty Sqns get the opportunity more often, but it is a first for the 179th Security Force Sqn for sure. Only a few orginizations around the world do ground defence of airfields and to be able to work with another one, especially one so proficient as the RAF Regiment was once in a lifetime for many in my unit."
