Mr Matthew Gould
Matthew is the CEO for NHSX, a joint unit between the Department for Health and Social Care and NHS England and NHS Improvement. The unit was set up to give staff and patients the technology they need.
Matthew was the government’s Director General for Digital and Media Policy. Before that he was British Ambassador to Israel, where he set up the UK-Israel Tech Hub, and the UK government’s Director of Cyber Security. He has also completed postings in Tehran, Islamabad, Washington and Manila.
Matthew is married with two daughters. He is a keen but incompetent show jumper.
Stephen Hill OBE
Stephen is Chairman of the Alzheimer's Society and a non-executive director on the board of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
He was appointed by the Secretary of State DCMS to the board of OFCOM in 2014. Stephen has extensive governance experience having served as a non-executive director on the boards of Royal SunAlliance, Channel 4 and others.
He was a pioneer of Betfair plc, one of the UK’s most successful tech companies, as an early investor and CEO. He was Chief Executive of the Financial Times Group where he launched FT.com.
Stephen was a member of the Cambridge University Business School advisory board for 9 years and now is a Patron. He was awarded an OBE for his work in philanthropy. In his spare time, Stephen enjoys travel, gardening, classic cars and triathlons.
As a Non-Executive Director of the RAF, Sally attends the Air Force Board Executive meetings at which the strategy and the operational effectiveness of the RAF is reviewed. She sits on the People Committee, chaired by the Chief of the Air Staff, which considers and discusses the People Plan for the RAF.
Sally is a partner at Goldman Sachs and is the International Head of the Human Capital Management (HCM) Division, overseeing the HCM businesses in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Bengaluru and Asia Pacific. She is also responsible for Employee Relations globally.
Simon is the co-founder of Gold Collins, a crisis advisory business, and has a variety of board and advisory roles with UK and international organisations.
He was Chairman and Senior Partner of KPMG LLP until 2017, following roles leading the Transactions and Corporate Finance businesses. Prior to that he was an investment banker with SG Warburg and NatWest Markets.
He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse in 1986. Simon is a member of the University of Manchester’s Global Leadership Board, chairs the Catalyst Board for Cancer Research UK and is a member of the Hampton-Alexander steering committee.
Jayne's expertise is in property infrastructure and related safety issues where she offers advice and support to the RAF on the management of and investment in its property estate. She has joined the Total Safety Committee as the independent member and brings her experience of functional safety working within industry.
Jayne is a Chartered Surveyor and was formerly Group Director of Property at FirstGroup, a FTSE 300 Company. She is a non-executive at a number of companies, including Glasgow Prestwick Airport and Aberdeen Harbour Board. Jayne is Chair of LionHeart Benevolent Organisation and Trustee of SAMH (Scottish Association of Mental Health). She is Joint Managing Director of a business consultancy and Managing Director of MacLennan Norman Property Consultants.
