About

101 Squadron is based at RAF Brize Norton, home of the RAF's transport and air-to-air refueling capability. Aircraft flown include the Lancaster, Canberra B2, Vulcan B1 and the VC10. The Squadron provides RAF and Coalition forces vital air-to-air refueling in support of Operation SHADER.

History

1917   Formed at South Farnborough.

1942   Flew all three 1,000-bomber raids without loss.

1951   Became the RAF's first Jet Bomber squadron in battle when it used the Canberra over Malaya.

2011   Supported Operation ELLAMY.
