About

4624 Squadron is based at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire. 4624 Squadron personnel accept, prepare and load cargo and passengers for worldwide travel on RAF air transport, coalition and charter aircraft. The Squadron works both on main bases and in mobile teams, wherever they are tasked around the world. Reservists work alongside Regular RAF personnel, routinely handling passengers and freight at airfields throughout the world.

History

1982   Formed at RAF Brize Norton.

1991   Deployed to Iraq.

2002 - 2014   Operation Herrick.

2003   Operation Telic.

2012   The Squadron celebrated its 30th Anniversary with a Freedom of Oxfordshire Parade.
