THE SQUADRON

No. 5 RAF Police & Security Squadron (ISTAR) Headquarters is based at RAF Waddington and supports the Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) Force Headquarters.

It commands the RAF Police & Security Flights at RAF Waddington and RAF Wittering as well as the ISTAR Air Wing Security Flight.

The Squadron’s mission is to provide dedicated policing, security and counter-intelligence effect in order to secure the ISTAR Force and protect their platforms, people and information, in the UK and overseas.

WHAT WE DO

A specialist team embedded within the ISTAR Force Headquarters, who are responsible for the delivery of Counterintelligence, Protective Security and Law Enforcement outputs to protect and secure ISTAR assets, information and personnel at home and abroad.

RAF Police, Military Provost Guard Service (MPGS) Soldiers and Civil Servants who are responsible for the delivery of Policing and Security at RAF Waddington and RAF Wittering.

RAF Police Military Working Dogs Teams stationed at RAF Waddington can deploy across the UK and Overseas to protect the RAF and its assets.
