About

Headquartered at RAF Waddington, with personnel serving at RAF Wyton, RAF Brize Norton, RAF High Wycombe and RAF Digby. One of three RAF Reserves units providing intelligence support to the Regular RAF. The unit seeks recruits throughout the UK. Intelligence Analysts and Officers obtain, analyse and present different forms of intelligence supporting aircraft and other military assets.

History

1986   Formed as a dedicated Volunteer Reserves Intelligence Unit, 7006 Flight, at RAF High Wycombe. Initially to provide linguists tailored to the needs of the Cold War.

1997   Became a squadron when the RAF Volunteer Reserve and Royal Auxiliary Air Force were amalgamated.
