Group Captain Lisa Foy has assumed the role of Air Command and Control Force Commander at RAF Boulmer, a crucial station within the RAF’s Air C2 Force responsible for UK airspace surveillance and tactical control of aircraft.

Group Captain Foy Takes Control of the Air Command and Control Force

Previously, Group Captain Foy served as Officer Commanding Number 1 Air Control Centre, now part of 19 Squadron, marking a historic milestone as the first female in that position.

Upon her appointment, she expressed her honour and commitment:

I am honoured to lead the Air Command and Control Force at RAF Boulmer. Our mission is critical to maintaining the security and integrity of UK airspace, and I look forward to working with the dedicated team here to continue this vital work.
 

Group Captain Foy will be responsible for overseeing 19 Squadron, 20 Squadron, and the 144 Signals Unit at RAF Boulmer, as well as 78 Squadron based in Swanwick.

Her predecessor, Group Captain Booth, retires after 34 years of service. Reflecting on his tenure, he stated:

It has been a privilege to serve as the Air Command and Control Force Commander. I am confident that Group Captain Foy will continue to lead the team with excellence and dedication. I look forward to my new role and the opportunities it presents.
