Our Mechanical Transport (MT) section work tirelessly, all year round to raise the awareness of road safety with our personnel, ensuring that everyone who works at or visits our sites are aware of any potential hazardous driving conditions. This year's programme featured a driving proficiency test staged in the MT Hangar, with teams competing to get the best score. Free Winter Vehicle Checks were carried out courtesy of Mechanical Transport Maintenance Section (MTMS) and a special assembly was delivered to children at Longhoughton Primary School where they were presented with information packs and a poster competition.
We also welcomed Joseph Hunter from Northumberland Fire & Rescue Service (NFRS) who delivered a very powerful brief to personnel as part of our ‘Survive the Drive’ event. Joseph spoke about his own previous experiences dealing with RTC's and the importance of safer driving, especially as we approach the winter months.
